Outfit Post:What i wore

I took a short hiatus from blogging but am back now and it sure feels good.Am not a big fan of the cold & rainy weather because dressing up can become a bit of a problem more so when you have to layer up just to keep warm and if you have a really amazing outfit inside no one gets to see it.Its no option though when its cold you just have to keep warm regardless.Last week i took a few photos of what i wore and if you follow me on Instagram or if you are my friend on Facebook you probably have seen these photos.

I threw on a blue Jeans that i bought from Jamia Mall,a simple t shirt inside..nothing fancy and a white sweater which i think i bought it at Ngara Market and black ankle boots that i bought from Bata and animal print scarf i bought in Abu Dhabi sometime back.I wore this to the office on a Friday..i tend to wear jeans mostly on Fridays as its usually dress down Fridays at work.

Then on Saturday i wore Black tights and a loose chiffon top both of them  i bought from Mr Price, animal print scarf i bought it from Flo Essentials she really sells nice scarves you will be spoilt for choice, and the "sweater"i bought it from Toi Market, pink flat shoes i bought them from Market stalls.

As i mentioned yesterday on facebook i will be hosting a second giveaway on the blog am really excited about it,it wont have complicated instructions to follow,i promise it will be easy and fun.I will blog about the details on Thursday. It will run for a week.Other than that I was trying out my camera tripod stand over the weekend,i have had it since i bought the camera and i have never really used it to take photos i always prefer someone taking photos of me but now i just have to get used to it as i havent been keeping up with outfit posts because of a flimsy excuse that there is no one to take photos of me.Here are just a few photos i took over the weekend...and trust me its not as easy as it looks,am still trying to get a hang of it.

The pics are a bit blurry, apologies for that...Here i wore red pants that i have worn before here and a blue graphic vest top i bought it from Mr Price, the Neck Piece was a gift.

I wore a little bit of make up,i had on Black Opal True colour liquid foundation and Island Beauty Red Lipstick.
Thanks for stopping by and apologies for my blurry photos next time they will be better.See you on thursday when i will be launching the giveaway details.
Have a lovely day

Life Musings:Are we all we are

I haven't put up a post in a while, something that am not really proud of!well the thing about me is that when am going through a particular phase  in my life, sometimes i tend to withdraw from blogging and i tend to focus on what's bothering me at that time.Again am not really good at opening up about my life on my blog,as i tend to focus strictly on fashion which is something i want to try and change.I would love to also let my readers know more about me..be warned though! i suck at opening up!so please bear with me

So am going through a very strange and kind of new phase in my life that involves interacting with different people, and there is nothing as bad as when you over think about every move you make or even the things you say to them because you don't want to piss them off.Getting to learn and understand people for sure is such a hard thing its like a struggle to me because i haven't been through this in like a 5years,so pretty much i feel like giving up and going back to the same old life i was used to.
Apart from that am also going through a self discovery phase where am trying to figure myself out...because sometimes you think you know thyself...then you go through a situation that leaves you totally clueless and you like.....what was i thinking!..am better than that!..why did i do that?

I don't like situations that leave me vulnerable hurt and worst of all those that make you feel stupid...but then again such circumstances makes us learn something in one way or the other because i mean who would love to go through the same mistake again!so you end up figuring yourself out, like what makes you happy...which battles to fight and which ones to let go.
This path that am taking in my life is kinda exciting and scary at the same time because one minute am so happy the next am so sad but i can't give up on this "quest"am embarking on am hoping i will reach the finish line..
After all is said and done you should never give up on what you really want especially if you want it soo bad.
I will resume back to my fashion post soon enough if anything i might throw in a give away because i haven't done so in a very long time!n giveaways are so much fun and i believe my awesome readers/followers deserve it!

And i leave you with my favourite video of the week!I love the lyrics of this song by Pink.

Have an awesome day/evening/morning.

Event Review:Absolut Fashion

The event took place on Friday 1st November at the Yaya Rooftop,it started at 7pm.It was a night of fashion where 5 different designers among them Black Bird,Kache by Angie & Kiko Romeo showcased their designs. All the guests looked amazing & stylish and more so the ambiance was just perfect for the evening.
I took a couple of photos of Strutt it Africa Models in the Designers outfits.
p.s they are in no particular order.

What i wore to the Absolut Fashion Event

I just couldn't hide my excitement when i got an email from Capital Fm crew inviting me to the Absolut Fashion Event at Yaya Center Rooftop on Friday 1st November.
The dress code  was colour block, well i had in mind what i wanted to wear for the event but when it came to shopping for the outfit it wasn't an easy task...because i just couldn't get the bright colours i wanted in such a short period of time,i actually went shopping on Wednesday a day before the event but all the same i think i looked fabulous.I wore a pink dress and colourblocked it with Blue spike studded  pump Heels.

The event was really amazing, different local designers showcased their designs and i must say they were really nice, details on that will be on my next post.
I also got a chance to meet a couple of influential individuals in the Kenyan Fashion Industry like super stylist Annabel Onyango ,the blogger behind dressupnation, she is such a wonderful person,so polite and down to earth.I loved her midriff top and skirt outfit, she looked gorgeous.

She also won Best stylist in kenya in a competition put together by Deacons Kenya team and besides that she is also one of the guest judges for the much awaited Africa's Next Top Model. It was such an honour meeting her.
I also had a chat with Ann McCreath the renowned designer of KikoRomeo.I loved her floral dress she looked fabulous, her collection on the runway too was amazing.

She is also a very down to earth person and it was really nice meeting her i look forward to working with her soon.
I couldnt resist taking photos to with Sautisol a Kenyan afro pop band, they were looking stylish..one thing about Sautisol is that you will never see them in ordinary outfits they always look unique and you can spot them from a distance. Here are photos of me with Chimamo,Bien and Mudigi...we look to damn lovely..lol.

Told you they look stylish..i love all their looks!
So my lovely sis Sera was the photographer of the day she also looked smashing in Nude Heels and a Floral Dress i just couldn't go without mentioning it.

Event Review:Nairobi Fashion Market

Its one event i have always looked forward to attending previously but i never had a chance but this year i knew i had to make time and attend the event...i didn't want to blog about it from a third party point of view like i did here in 2012 .What i love most about Nairobi Fashion market is that they give upcoming Kenyan designers a platform to showcase their designs for example one designer that i met and felt inspired by her collection is Sheena C .Her collection on the runway was amazing.
Apart from that i met other young designers who make stuff in terms of interior decor...African Print Inspired Seats, beaded place mats and mirrors among other stuff. This particular ones are by Jatu Designer I would really love to feature her  on my designer spotlight segment so that we see more of her  interior decor designs.

I also loved Afrovazi stall set up,it was too damn lovely kinda brought out the personality of the designer...chic and glamorous..

She had some colourful bags and shoes and an awesome personality...nice to meet you Kui!
Simbaress Fashions by Diana Nekoye, she also had amazing African  Print outfits

This other young designer Lisa from the feather tree also had some beautiful shoes winter boots to be precise..i think i forgot to take photos of what she was selling but i took a photo of her she looked gorgeous, from the photo you can spot the winter boots behind her..more details here

T

Flashy n colourful accessories by Vbrins i really liked them i was so tempted to buy the whole shop..lol

Now onto the Runway fashion show.I managed to take a few photos of Sheena C's designs...

Everyone who showed up at the event looked stylished.....and  i love capturing such moments to share with you my amazing readers...am also going to put up the same photos on my blog's facebook page feel free to tag yourself.

Outfit Post:What I wore to Nairobi Fashion market Event

The spectacular event took place at the Ngong Racecourse for two days Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th Oct.I was ubber excited especially when i got complimentary tickets which was just by sheer luck.

So i wore an Aztec Print Pencil dress which i bought from a friend's shop here and silver sandals that i bought from Mr.Price, for the accessories the sunglasses i bought them from Mr.Price too and the neck piece is from super cosmetics i have worn it here before and the chunky african print bangles i made them. The Orange bag i bought from an online shop on facebook.

I love this pencil dress more so because of the prints and it can still look stylish if you pair it up with heels but for this particular event i didn't want to subject myself to that because i knew i would move around a lot so i went for the sandals. To break the monochrome look i had an orange bag just to add more life to my whole look.
I took lots of photos am putting them up on my next blog post and i also met a fellow  fashion blogger  Lucia Musau

I
We met after the event so we really didn't have a chance to take a good photo. She is a really good fashion blogger and i admire her sense of style!I was so happy to see her!
I didnt want to post everything on one post so my next post is on the event, from vendors, runway shows  to street style.

Thanks for checking out my blog!
