Street Style South Africa

One thing about street style is that its a unique expression of ones style and individuality and this amazing Street Style Blogger from South Africa captures just that!He is Anthony Bila."a young man who has a great eye for style (on himself and on other people) and he also knows some stylish people. As the name of his blog suggests, Bila is interested in people whose style expresses their personalities, rather than those who are like walking catalogues. On the Expressionist, Bila also posts pictures of his artworks. It's simple, with minimal wording and maximum style".-Sunday Times.I think of him as Africa's Tommy Ton as he captures unique fashion moments in the streets.

URBAN COUTURE BY JERRON

How to Wear Coloured skinny Jeans

I have always wanted to own a pair of colored skinny jeans but at times knowing how to style them can be a bit of a challenge. So i have done my research on colored skinny's and how to rock them with fab shoes and tops as am thinking of going shopping this weekend and colored skinny jeans is on top of my a must buy list.Anything to do with colored outfits you must have the color wheel in mind as you need to know which colors actually compliment each other because you don't want to look like a clown. So you can check out my post on colour blocking tips, facts and tricks you will get to learn more.

Bright Versus Neutral Colours
When you not so sure about the bright colours you can always pair the bright coloured skinny's with neutral colours.

Strictly Men's Affair! 3

So I recently started this segment on men's style some time back but i failed to keep up with it,for some reason blogging about men's fashion can be abit of a challenge for a female fashion blogger but all the same am gonna give it a try I hope i can Keep up.When it comes to fashion especially for men i think a guy should find a style that suits him or rather compliment him.You just don't wear skinny pants because you saw Chris Brown rocking them and you thought you would look the same...no it doesnt work that way.I would advice a guy to try out different looks until he finds one that suits his body, personality so that when you out there you actually look fabulous. So get to know what style suits you and then go all out on it by that i mean maximize on it.
So here are different looks you can try out!

Michelle Obama Lady of Style!

Am proud of the Americans for voting for a wise leader! So i was super excited that Barrack Obama won this morning and was soo loking forward to his speech, and i loved each and every thing about it but what really caught me is when he was thanking his Family and i quote........."And I wouldn’t be the man I am today without the woman who agreed to marry me 20 years ago. Let me say this publicly: Michelle, I have never loved you more. I have never been prouder to watch the rest of America fall in love with you, too, as our nation’s first lady. Sasha and Malia, before our very eyes you’re growing up to become two strong, smart beautiful young women, just like your mom. And I’m so proud of you guys. But I will say that for now one dog’s probably enough"
And i started thinking of how Michelle Obama has really been a supportive wife to her husband and am amazed of her fashion sense that is  for sure. She truly is a fashion icon for the modern women. Here are pics of her i came across n i so like!

Simple yet elegant and stylish, more reasons why her husbands adores her so much!Personally i believe if your smart on the outside you definately smart on the inside and in fashion you really dont have to try so hard to stand out,it should be effortless.

I leave with one more part of Barrack's speech that inspired me..

"I have always believed that hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting."---Obama!

Have an inspired week Lovelies!

For the Love of Kitenge @ Kitenge Festival!

I must admit i have really missed my blog! Its been a month now since i had blog post, sorry for being MIA but am back now :)
I attended the much hyped Kitenge Festival over the weekend and i must say i was impressed by the way people came in large numbers to the event and the stuff being showcased from clothes to accessories was utterly amazing! The only thing i missed out and was really looking forward to was the runway session but oh well atleast i managed to see the beautiful outfits Kenyan Designers showcased.I was more into how people dressed up for the event and one word FABULOUS!most people came to the event looking there very best.
Take A Look and be the Judge!Of course i start with my personal choice of the best dressed :-)

Hi Lovelies,

Hope y'all had a lovely weekend.Mine so far so good.Yesterday i attended a party at my mum's place, its been very cold in Nairobi especially on Friday and Saturday.I totally had fun at the party.I  first had to go to work, i usually work half day on Saturdays, then in the afternoon i had to go see a client who was interested in an outfit from my collection Vonette Boutique  later in the afternoon i  went to mum's place. Here are the pics

I may not be able to frequently post outfit posts through out the week as i usually work from 8am to 5pm and getting time to take pics at the office can be kinda tricky, thats why my outfit posts are not so frequent.I will be doing outfit posts mostly over the weekends atleast then i have time to do so.

The African Fabric bangles and earrings i have worn are my latest projects :-),by this i mean i actually made them,i will be launching my line of Earrings and Bangles made of African Fabric and they will be for sale on my blog as from next week on Tuesday,i have made a variety of them,no worries more info will be available on Tuesday.

Janelle Monae the new face of Cover Girl!!!

That's right she is the new cover girl celebrity face! She joins the current brand ambassadors Taylor swift,Queen Latifah,Drew Barrymore among others. What really amazes me about her being chosen as the brand ambassador for cover girl is the simplicity in her style...this is what she has to say about her monochromatic wardrobe in the Sept Issue of Vanity Fair! ...... "It's part of having something that's transcendent. You could time travel, you could go all over the world, it won't ever go out of style," she says of her chic black and white. "It's just a part of a 'brand' that I created, even if nobody was watching. I know what I like; if you go to my closet, I have at least four of everything. Once you find what you like, it's like it worked yesterday, it works today, it'll work tomorrow"
I couldn't agree more with that, style is something that is effortless, makes you stand out from the crowd and as long as you believe in yourself the rest of the world will believe in you.

Colour Blocking,tips,facts and tricks

Currently i have been obsessing over colors especially bright ones. And i came to realize colour blocking is so easy as long as you know which two colors compliment each other... and thank God for the color wheel as it clearly shows how to blend in the colours..

According to the colour wheel, colours that are directly across each other go well together like green and magenta, blue and yellow...e.t.c Also a colour scheme designer does the trick, clearly shows which colours compliment each other.
Here are some basic facts about colour Blocking
  1. accentuating and tying these colours is usually done with shoes and accesories
  2. any solid coloured clothes in bright hues can be mixed and matched to make fantastic colour blocked outfit
  3. play bright colours against each other for bold new  looks
  4. black and white are seen occasionally but can create stunning looks when paired with eye popping colours.
Fashionable people Colour Blocking!

I think colour blocking is one of those trends that are here to stay! Its one of those looks if you get it right u will always make a fashionable statement wherever you go.

African Inspiration

Hi Lovely People!
I know i promised pics of my designs well ummmm there has been abit of a  delay, but don worry they be coming soon..i promise :)
So i jus want to share with you some pics here which draw my inspiration on African outfits and designs that i came  up with.
The reason as to why i love African stuff so much apart from that.. of course African.... is that am so amazed by the potential Africa has in terms of African Fashion its just a matter of us exploiting our potential s/o far West Africa be going hard when it comes to Fashion....i know East Africa we aint that far from their footsteps....,I must Say that i was totally amazed by the young and upcoming fashion designers in Nairobi who showcased their designs in the recent concluded FAFA competitions.
Am so happy to see that in Nairobi we starting to appreciate fashion and fashion events here are like almost every weekend.Again am so happy about that....... too bad i miss most of them.. i know i know i must make plans of attending.....am looking forward to attending Trendz this weekend,i promise to give you the low down on the event :).
So back to my inspiration of African Fashion :).....Am a huge fan of its african inspired on tumblr...
