Maxi Fever

I instantly fell in love with this maxi two piece set the moment I saw it.If you have been following my style religiously you know I am a sucker for bright colours,so there was no way I was leaving this yellow maxi set behind.
What I love about it is that it can be worn as a dress, simply by pulling up the skirt way above the belly button or rather the midi section so that it meets up with the crop top covering the midriff area.

Its a perfect outfit for  summer you can pair it up with a sun hat and sandals and you good to go!

Outfit Post : The Perfect Dress

"You're clothes should be tight enough to show you are a woman but loose enough to show you're a lady"Marilyn Monroe...I couldn't agree more with her.I love fitting dresses because am petite and tend to prefer dresses that show my "curves" so to speak. When i tried this mini dress on i liked it but i loved it more when  i paired them with my ankle boots. Its a really fun outfit and the colours on it are happy colours that give you an instant happy mood.

Outfit Post:Floral Pencil Skirt & Nude Heels

It was love at first sight when i saw this floral pencil skirt at Mr Price store,i just had to purchase it,it was a perfect fit but the thing is i didn't know what top or blouse i would match it up with so i practically tried all the blouses that were in my wardrobe and this sleeveless floral chiffon top blended in well with the skirt.

What i like most about this whole outfit is that its office friendly meaning it can be worn to the office that's mainly because of the length of the skirt its below the knee.Floral brings out a classy and sophisticated look.

3 year Blogoversary!!!

I can't believe its actually been three years since i started blogging. It's been a journey and half and there is no way i would let this month pass without me mentioning it because its quite an achievement for me.

I started blogging in February 2011,back then all i knew was that i loved fashion so i would like just type a few sentences and add so many photos to make up a blog post and since i was so shy i only mentioned to a few of my friends that i had a blog....funny thing is i never even wanted to show my face on the blog so in 2011 there was no outfit post maybe just one.
In 2012 i came out of my "cacoon"so to speak and i actually started posting outfits on the blog and i even went ahead and opened a fan page for my blog on facebook (feel free to like it).I never really wanted so many people to know that i blog i was so shy and i was afraid of being judged. One thing i also learn't about being a blogger is that there is no way you can escape attention especially if you are  a fashion blogger.

Sometimes people stare at me in the streets because they see my face on the blog and when they meet me in person they are like i have seen you somewhere you look familiar...i always smile and tell them about my blog.
Some of the challenges i have experienced in fashion blogging is taking photos...sometimes it can be quite tough getting a good location to take photos leave alone people staring at you and wondering if you are model or what the hell is going on...i have learn't to be brave enough and take pics without caring what people think of me whether they are staring i really don't care i just do my thing.

I have to say 2013 was the peak of my fashion blogging career as i got to do a lot.....like attending most fashion events and taking  pics to post on the blog.I Also got to partner with different companies which was  a plus for me. I was so happy when  i started earning through blogging, all i can say is hard work and consistency which ain't easy in the blogging world is what got me here.

Getting invited to events is always an honour and when i got invited to the absolute fashion event i was really happy this  shows how much my blog is getting recognition. I really had a good time at the event as i got to network with various people in the fashion industries like Annabel and Ann Mcreath among others.

Fashion blogging for the last 3 years has been such an amazing journey for me full of ups and downs the best part about it is that i keep on learning and growing more and more.Am hoping  for the best this year.

So far I have written 137 posts  and my blog page views is currently at 60,066 and my face book like page is currently at 1,711 and on blogger i have 39 followers.May seem little to someone else but to me this is an achievement i intend to work hard as fashion is my passion am thankful to all of you who always read my blog and comment all that means a lot to me.

Before i leave though,i want to update you on my hair journey like i promised on my last post.I went and had my hair braided...i really love this braids..soft dreads by angel they are really funky, you would think its a weave but its actually braids.

Have an amazing week! Thanks for checking out my blog

Outfit Post:Florals and Patterns

Its been a minute i know!Sure feels good to be back though.I decided to take a break from blogging for a while reasons being i didn't have someone to take photos to post on my blog and at some point i felt like actually giving up on fashion blogging you know when you haven't blogged for a while then you start asking yourself is it even worth it getting back to it and sometimes i felt like my best wasn't good enough for fashion blogging and all....but i picked myself up and decided am going to do this whether i have a photographer or not because i have a crazy passion for fashion! So not to worry am still going to be here.
While i was on leave in January i managed to take a few pics of what i wore...i know its rather late to post the photos now but all the same i will put them up because i promised to do so.

The floral top i wore here my sis bought it for me from Mutindwa Market for Kshs 50,One thing i love about my sis is that she has this amazing talent of picking fashionable clothes from Mutindwa Market and when she wears them you wont believe she bought them from there, whenever i want something from Mutindwa and i can't make it to go there i usually tell her to go buy for me because i know she won't dissappoint.I paired the floral top with graphic jeggings which i also bought from Mutindwa market some time back, the moment i saw them i fell in love instantly, they were kshs 200 such a bargain! The shoes i bought them at some shop near View Park Towers in town.

My accessories the ring is my sister's my mum actually bought it for her, would you believe she bought it from those shops at river road,i can,t remember how much it was but i know it wasn't expensive.Ladies, let me let you in on a little secret...you see if you want some really cool accessories from neck pieces, rings and bangles the best place to buy them is from those beauty shops at River road, there are some shops that have really unique stuff.
As for my hair,i decided to change my look a little bit n rock short hair...which i really like i think i look nice in this particular hair style.Don't get it twisted though i didn't cut my hair i retouched it then did a straw set at Tony Airo's salon...It kinda looks like natural hair because of the curls but it isn't.At the moment that's how am rocking my hair i like it so much for a moment i thought of going natural because its so much stress free.
With this sunny weather in Nairobi i would recommend this hairstyle for the ladies.

I have one request before i go please submit my blog for the Kenyan Blog Awards 2014 here under  Best Fashion/Beauty/Hair/Style Blog I would really love to participate in this particular contest just for the thrill of it...so go on nominate my blog i would be honored! Thanks in advance.

Have a lovely week y'all and thanks for stopping by!

Outfit Post:Maxi Love

Still on the love for African Fashion, what i wore yesterday was  a maxi skirt made from Kitenge Fabric and i paired  it with a yellow vest top that i have worn before here.and also paired it  with my  orange bag, just to add more colour to my already bright outfit.
Bright colours are a trend this season so adding a colorful accessory to any outfit is a plus as long as it blends well or rather colour block it well.

As for the accessories,I wore different shades of green for the necklace neon green and the hand accessory was lime green and orange earings.

As for the shoes,i had silver sandals that i bought from Mr.Price,i have only worn these sandals like three times and yesterday they snapped so if you looking to buying sandals i wouldn't advice you to go to Mr Price because this is not the first time i have bought sandals from their store and didn't last long,i would rather buy my sandals from Toi market next time.

This one of my favourite shots of my outfit post i didnt know i could jump this high!....lol

Have a lovely week Beautiful People. As always thanks for checking out my blog i totally appreciate!

Eid Mubarak!to all my Muslim brothers and sisters!

I had the chance to visit Abu Dhabi during the Holy Month of Ramadan(July) and i more so loved the city and really admired the Islamic culture ,the rules observed during ramadhan!sigh!was a challenge for me during those few days i was there...no eating or drinking in public... but despite that i had a pretty good time shopping at the various malls they have in Abu Dhabi .What i admired most in Arabic women is their sense of style and fashion, they really have good taste,i could tell from the way they dressed and more so they sure  know their fashion brands as i could see them carrying bags from H&M ,Body Shop,Gucci among other trendy fashion stores in Abu  Dhabi.I would definately visit Abu Dhabi again for some shopping therapy,it's such a lovely city.
So I came across this amazing Muslim Blogger from the UK and i completely fell in love with her Style. She's got it all from colour blocking,denims,stripes...her outfits are amazing not forgetting the lovely  Hijab/Scarfs she has on,all different and blend in with her outfits perfectly and she also sells them on her website.

I love the way she colour blocks her outfits!

She really blends well the  Hijab's with her outfits and not forgetting her make up!

Her Style is stunning. So if you thought Muslim women ain't got style...we'll here is proof.

My Make Up Essentials

Hello Beautiful people!
Hope your weekend was awesome!I stayed indoors the whole weekend I honestly didn't even  leave the house until today morning when i was coming to work. The weather in Nairobi ain't pleasant at all its dull & cold. Here is what i have been up to,I thought i would share with you my step by step make up routine because lately i have been a make up addict, nowadays its almost impossible for me to leave the house without putting on a bit of make up.So here is how i do it:

This were the key make up essentials i used:Liquid Foundation-Black Opal Beautiful Bronze,Face Powder-Suzzy Beauty  SB 60,Eye shadow pallet - O'Loral,Lipstick Sleek Pearl wine & Island Beauty Pure Pink.
The first Step i did was to wash my face with Neutrogena Facial Wash then i applied a moisturizer on my face.Moisturizer is really important as it acts as a sealant to keep the skin's natural moisture from evaporating through the pores.
Second step:I used Black Opal Liquid foundation, beautiful bronze.I prefer black opal to sleek foundation as its lightweight and oil free as compared to sleek liquid foundation which is bulky and after a few hours your face becomes oily...i don't like that at all!!So i tried using a liquid foundation brush as an applicator which i found it to be too much work,i think i would rather stick to the sponge and leave the brush to the make up artists.

Third Step:Suzzy Beauty Face Powder to even out my skin. The liquid foundation when applied makes the face look more smooth  while the powder also makes it smooth and adds polish to any make up.
Fourth Step:was my eyes i applied a little bit of eye shadow on my eyelids as you can see above then i also applied mascara on my eye lashes i used M.A.C water proof mascara. The good thing about mascara is it thickens and lengthens eye lashes making them more visible.I also used eye pencil on my eyebrows i just brushed it over my eyebrows to just add abit of colour,if you press it so much you end up looking funny.
Fifth Step:Lipstick...i used 2 different Red lipsticks, sleek the one with matte and Island Beauty without matte,i did this because I love both of them Sleek has this red rich color but i don't like how it shines so i reduce that by using island beauty on top of it.So for the first layer i apply sleek then second layer i use island beauty Red lipstick.

Then I also decided to try on another shade of lipstick Island Beauty Pure Pink.I heart this pink Lipstick,it was my first time trying it out and i fell in love. What i love about the Island Beauty Brand is that their lipsticks tend to last longer compared to sleek Lipsticks that's from my own point of view.

So here is a summary of my make up transformation:The Before and after Shots.

What are your make up essentials, what can't you leave the house without applying? For me as you can see its foundation and lipstick that's a must.
P.S Special Thanks to my boyfriend for taking the pics!

Have an amazing week y'all and thanks for reading my blog!

The Curvy n Confident Lady

Hey Fashionistaz!

Thank God its Friday!I have had an awesome week cant complain. As you can see on my face book page i have become more active finally.I decided to grow in terms of my posts,i will no longer just focus on fashion alone but also makeup, hair posts and very soon i will pick up on my outfit posts as soon as i get a new camera.Onto Curvy n Confident,i got to admit i admire the confidence in curvy fashion bloggers,I have come across some of their blogs and I like the message they pass..you don't have to be petite skinny to be fashionable.Gone are the days when curvy women would hide themselves in baggy outfits these days its all about embracing the curves.Check out this set i put together on how you can style your curvy self!

I heart this dress!she definately looks gorgeous in it!

Then there is this other set,in my opinion i think curvy ladies look way better in boyfriend jeans than we petite skinny ladies.Personally i like boyfriend jeans but i wouldn't get myself one as its just not my style,i doubt if i would look good in them as i tend to think curvy ladies look better in them.

What are your thoughts on being Curvy and Fashionable?Let me know..
Have an awesome weekend and be safe!

How to dress up for the cold weather

Hey Beautiful people,

Its been a while since i posted, huh?been awfully busy with so much stuff happening in my life and i decided to give myself a break from blogging for a little while,am back now in full swing :)!I cant wait for "kenyan winter" to be over its been cold since June!arrgghh!Anywhay here are some of outfit ideas i have come up with to beat this cold season.I decided to divide the Looks into different categoreis:

The Office Wear/Look

If you love colours like i do then you will definately like this look. This outfit idea is for the fashion loving chic as it has a little bit of colour block a trend that i dont think will come of age any time soon also the neon colours make you feel a little bit of warm inside. One amazing thing about bright coloured outfits is that they automatically get you noticed and brighten up your mood on a dull day.So if you wake up grumpy or maybe you having a presentation at work, definately wear bright colours and you will feel confident about yourself.

Edgy Look

What i love about this look is the combination of the skirt and knee boots, very unique.Ideal for the fashionable chic who wants to make a fashion statement and stand out from the crowd.Yes you can still wear that skirt even when its cold as long as you wear your fancy knee high boots.

Casual Chic
I think you can never go wrong with the distressed denim jeans,so if its not that cold you can always pair it up with nice boots and a jacket. This look is warm, simple and still stylish.Ideal for the college girl and just a casual look for that cold saturday.

I will post more polyvore sets on my FaceBook Page here.Stay warm and comments, suggestions will be highly appreciated.Have an awesome week.

African Prints Accessories!

When i started my own business in African Print stuff it was and its still is for the passion of African Fashion. If anything i started fashion blogging because i kind of felt African Fashion is not  being given the credit it deserves especially to the designers. So i would feature different designers in Africa on my blogger. If you are an ardent follower on my blogger you will notice this but i later sort of diverted from that and it doesn't mean i no longer have interest in African designers,if anything i adore both the emerging designers and those who have already created a name for themselves out there.Anyway let me not loose focus here...i have noticed that currently in Kenya, the love of African Print or rather Kitenge trend is actually catching up fast with us.I recently attended an event hosted by creatives garage an amazing platform for people who talented in various arts,i showcased my African Print accessories and the response was quite good, people want to be associated with Africa either in printed t shirts or just simple print bangles or earrings.Even celebrities like Solange Knowles want to be associated with the African Print

Here is a pic i recently took rocking one of my African Print bangles

We also need to embrace our own African made stuff and support each other not just letting it be for the tourists who come to our country. So y'all Kenyan Ladies reading this post, atleast make a point of owning an african accessory in your wardrobe,it can even be just a simple African print Clutch bag, speaking of which,my next post will be all about how my first showcase at the creatives garage was!You dont want to miss out on that.

Have an amazing Day and yes Keep it African

P.S
If you would like to have a set of African Print Accessories(Bangles and earings)feel free to make an order here and i will get back to you asap.
